An ATRO is a court ruling that stops either spouse from selling, transferring or borrowing against property. Angelina wants the ATRO lifted because she’s hoping to sell Château Miraval, the French property which she co-owns with Brad and features both a castle and winery.

According to documents filed by Angelina’s legal team, the actress has found a buyer for the vast property, but Brad has not approved lifting the ATRO which would allow her to sell it.

“After all these years of trying to extricate herself from being business partners with her ex-husband on acceptable financial terms, Ms. Jolie is extremely desirous of closing the pending agreement for the sale of Nouvel, LLC, and requests that the Court issue an order lifting the ATROs and specifying that they shall not apply to Ms. Jolie’s sale of Nouvel, LLC,” the court documents read, according to US.
