It actually looked like a one-piece Mary-Kate or Ashley might wear. And even more importantly, the retro, colorblock design reminded me of that scene from Our Lips Are Sealed, you know, when Maddie and Abby Parker are wearing ’60s tunics that hail straight from Andy Warhol’s Factory era.

Elizabeth Olsen is Mary-Kate and Ashley’s younger sister, but she’s got a style mantra all her own, and from a red carpet perspective, Elizabeth is quite different from the design duo. But she opted for something sleek and chic with clean, modern lines when she joined her beau, Robbie Arnett, on the beach in Mexico.

If this is a bit of a stretch, sue me; I’m a fan of the famous Olsen films and all the trends MK and A started via screen in the ’90s and early aughts. Now, so many of them feel fresh and up-to-date, and Lizzie Olsen’s suit is just subtle proof of that.
